A Closer Look at Each Step

Every IVF journey is unique. Here’s what you can expect during the treatment process.

01— Evaluation & Personalised Planning

Your journey begins with understanding both partners. Your medical and fertility history, ovarian reserve, ultrasound findings, hormone tests and semen analysis may be evaluated to help plan treatment around your needs.

02 — Ovarian Stimulation & Monitoring

Fertility medications are used to encourage the ovaries to develop multiple eggs. Your response is monitored through scans and, where appropriate, blood tests so the treatment can be adjusted to your individual response.

03 — Egg Retrieval & Sperm Collection

When the eggs are ready, they are carefully retrieved through a planned procedure. A sperm sample is also collected and prepared for fertilisation.

04 — Fertilisation & Embryo Development

The eggs and sperm are brought together in the embryology laboratory. Depending on the fertility factors involved, conventional IVF or ICSI may be recommended. The resulting embryos are carefully monitored as they develop.

05 — Embryo Transfer & The Wait That Means Everything

An appropriate embryo may be gently transferred into the uterus. Then comes one of the most emotional parts of the journey—the wait before your pregnancy test.

Understanding IVF: From Process to Possibilities

IVF brings eggs and sperm together in a specialised embryology lab. The resulting embryos are carefully monitored before an appropriate embryo is transferred into the uterus.

IVF may be considered for blocked fallopian tubes, endometriosis, ovulation concerns, male infertility, unexplained infertility or when previous fertility treatments have not worked.
Preparing for Your IVF Journey

Every IVF journey begins by understanding your fertility needs and preparing a treatment plan around them.

Fertility Evaluation

Your fertility history and reproductive health are assessed through relevant tests for both partners, which may include hormone tests, ovarian reserve assessment, ultrasound and semen analysis.

Personalised IVF Planning

Your specialist plans the IVF protocol based on factors such as age, ovarian reserve, fertility concerns, previous treatment history and test results.

Ovarian Stimulation

Fertility medications are used to encourage multiple follicles to develop. Your response is carefully monitored through ultrasound scans and, when required, hormone tests.

Trigger Injection

Once the follicles reach an appropriate stage, a trigger injection is given to support final egg maturation before egg retrieval.

From Egg Retrieval to Embryo Transfer
This is where carefully timed clinical care and embryology come together.
Egg Retrieval
Mature eggs are carefully collected from the ovaries, usually around 34–36 hours after the trigger injection, depending on your treatment protocol.
Sperm Collection & Preparation
A semen sample is collected and prepared in the laboratory for fertilisation.
Fertilisation
The retrieved mature eggs are fertilised using conventional IVF or ICSI, depending on the couple’s fertility needs.
Embryo Development
The fertilised eggs are carefully monitored as they develop into embryos over the following days.
Embryo Transfer
An appropriate embryo is gently transferred into the uterus. Depending on your treatment plan, your specialist may recommend a fresh or frozen embryo transfer.
The Wait, the Test & What Comes Next
Your IVF care continues even after the embryo transfer.
Post-Transfer Care
Continue medications and follow the activity and lifestyle guidance provided by your fertility specialist.
The Waiting Period
The days after embryo transfer can naturally bring questions and emotions. Avoid interpreting individual symptoms as confirmation of whether treatment has worked.
Pregnancy Test
A blood pregnancy test is usually planned around 9–14 days after embryo transfer, depending on your treatment protocol.
If the Test Is Positive
Your fertility team will guide you through follow-up testing and early pregnancy monitoring.
If the Test Is Negative
Your specialist can review the cycle, discuss possible contributing factors and help you understand appropriate next steps.

The IVF cost in Hyderabad can vary depending on your personalised treatment plan, medications, investigations and whether additional fertility procedures are recommended.

Every IVF journey is different. Treatment outcomes can depend on age, ovarian reserve, sperm health, embryo development, underlying fertility concerns and previous treatment history.

There is no single IVF success rate for every couple. Age, egg and sperm quality, reproductive health, embryo development and individual fertility conditions can all influence the chances of success.

Questions You May Have Before Starting IVF

It’s natural to have questions when the journey means so much. Here are some answers to help you move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

IVF is generally well tolerated, although injections, scans and egg retrieval may cause temporary discomfort. Your fertility team will guide you through each stage and help make the IVF treatment process as comfortable as possible.

There is no fixed number. Some couples may conceive after their first cycle, while others may need additional attempts. IVF treatment results can vary based on age, ovarian reserve, sperm health, embryo development and the underlying fertility concern.

The IVF success rate is different for every couple. Age, egg and sperm quality, ovarian reserve, embryo development, reproductive health and previous treatment history can all influence the chances of pregnancy.

Some people may experience temporary bloating, mood changes, headaches, breast tenderness or discomfort from fertility medications. Your IVF specialist in Hyderabad will monitor your response throughout treatment and discuss any concerns with you.

Multiple pregnancy can occur with IVF, particularly when more than one embryo is transferred. Your fertility specialist will discuss embryo-transfer decisions based on your individual circumstances and treatment goals.
